Dalhousie University Scholarship list

A.S. Mowat Prize

The A.S. Mowat Prize was created with gifts from numerous donors, and the purpose of the award is to perpetuate the memory of Alexander S. Mowat, a Professor of Education. The award provides  $1500 to recognise outstanding student studying at Dalhousie University and in their first year of a master’s program in any discipline.

Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship

The scholarship commemorates Abdul Bader, born in the Iranian capital city of Tehran who later became a Canadian citizen. The fund provides for Graduate Scholarship for international Doctoral or Masters students. The first preference is Iranian student, who are residents of Iran.

Donald Hill Family Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Donald Hill Family Postdoctoral Fellowship honours Dr Donald Hill, a Dalhousie alumnus with a career in business, medicine and research. These fellowships accelerate the careers of recent doctoral graduates engaged in leading-edge research. The primary focus of the post-doctoral fellowships is advancement within each field of Medicine, Computer Science and Humanities/Social Sciences.

Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Scholarship for Women

The Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Scholarship commemorated Women’s Centennial Year and created to attract outstanding female students into a program of studies leading to the PhD degree. Eligibility includes acceptance into a PhD program at Dalhousie, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and application must be made within the first year of the degree program. The Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Scholarship is renewable, and the value is $24,000 annually.

Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded annually to recently graduated scholars of superior academic research ability at Dalhousie University. The award is for two years, and it covers travel costs, research cost, and conference attendance. To contact the  Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship Committee, apply via the Chair of the Department of choice.

Other scholarships available via the Dalhousie University are Linda Marie Gillingwater Rainsberry Graduate Scholarship and Bursary, Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation,  Walter C.
